The Should Detox:

Stop Running on Empty, Start Leading with Energy

Tuesday 20th October, 12 - 1:30pm London Time

BONUS for attending live, the recording will automatically be sent to you after the session

You've spent years looking after everyone else

It is time to look after yourself with the same care.

Most senior leaders and professional women I meet are living a long way from OK. They have been doing it for so long that the exhaustion, the constant mental calculation, and the Sunday night dread have started to feel normal.

Spoiler: it is not normal. It is just common.

And you cannot close the gap between how hard you are working and how much space you have to live by time managing or waiting for the perfect time to set a boundary.

It starts with getting you to OK.

Let's be honest

When you run out of energy at the end of a relentless day, you end up indulging in habits you're not particularly proud of:

  • The extra glass of wine when you said you’d have an early night.

  • The mindless doom-scrolling in bed, a small, quiet act of rebellion against a day where you had no time for yourself.

  • The whole packet of biscuits scoffed standing up while you cook the actual dinner.

We look at these habits and call them weaknesses. We tell ourselves we just need more discipline.

These habits are not weaknesses. They are data. Important pieces of information that we need to pay attention to.

These habits are your system's best, most desperate attempt to take care of a real, unmet need with the wrong resource. And once you understand the mechanics of why you are doing this, making a meaningful change gets infinitely easier.

When your basic needs are met, you are functional, and you can give to your team, your clients, and your family from a place of genuine capacity. But when you are depleted, giving from there isn't generous. It is sacrifice.

And too much sacrifice always leads to burnout.

There's a different way, join me for The Should Detox

A live, practical 90-minute workshop for senior leaders and professional women to break the patterns of over-delivery, quiet the fear of failure, and identify what you need to be OK.

Date and time: Tuesday 20th October, 12 - 1:30pm London Time

Location: Live Workshop - you'll automatically be sent the recording if you register and there's a bonus ONLY for those who attend live

Investment: Free

About Your Host,

Dr Laura Shallcross

I help senior leaders and high-performing women break the cycle of over-delivery, set firm boundaries, and reclaim their life outside of work.

But before I did this work, I lived it.

I once poured my entire self-worth into a massive project, believing that my value was tied directly to my performance. When the pressure peaked, my boss screamed at me. It broke through my defences, and I was signed off with stress.

Even then, my perfectionism tried to run the show. I tried to return to work just three days later because the fear of being seen as a failure was louder than my body's need to heal.

A couple of months later, the organization cancelled the project anyway.

With a single administrative decision, the thing I had nearly destroyed my health to protect was gone. I felt something inside me literally smash. I started looking for new jobs that day, resigned, and forged a new path.

I learned the hard way that you cannot help anyone from your knees, and that failure is not the end of the world.

Today, my approach isn't about generic time-management tips. I work with the deep, subconscious patterns of perfectionism and people-pleasing that make you say yes when you mean no, so you can establish firm boundaries and actually enjoy the life you have built.

What you'll walk away with

This is a live, interactive workshop. You will not sit through 90 minutes of dry theory. You will actively do the work in real time and walk away with:

  • The Truth Behind the Habits: Why willpower is not the answer to the late-night scrolling or the extra glass of wine, and what your body is actually asking for instead.

  • Your Personal Needs Creed: A simple, highly practical map of what you need physiologically, psychologically, relationally, and spiritually to stay functional and well.

  • The Generosity vs. Sacrifice Filter: How to feel the difference between clean giving and depletion, and how to catch yourself before you tip over into burnout.

  • Setting unbreakable boundaries: Practical, sayable scripts to help you decline unnecessary meetings, renegotiate deadlines, and stop over-checking your work.

Who this is for:

This workshop is for you if:

  • You are a responsible, highly capable woman who looks after everyone else but cannot remember the last time you asked what you need.

  • You are tired of running on empty and suspect that overworking, over-checking, and second-guessing are symptoms of a deeper pattern of perfectionism.

  • You are ready to stop feeling guilty for putting your own maintenance first and want to know that you are safe even when things aren't perfect.

This workshop is NOT for you if:

  • You are looking for quick productivity hacks, time-blocking templates, or a color-coded morning routine.

  • You want to remain in the loop of chronic over-delivery because it feels safer than setting a boundary.

FAQs

Q: I don't have time for this. What can I do?

I hear you. And I would gently say that is exactly why these 90 minutes matter. If you do not have an hour and a half to look after yourself, the way your week is built is fundamentally unsustainable. This workshop is the practical interruption to that pattern.

Q: Will you try to sell me something?

The workshop stands completely on its own, and you will leave with your own personalised Needs Creed.

At the end, I will share how we can continue working together if that feels like a fit for you. There is no high-pressure pitch. That is not how I work.

Q: Is this just self-care and bubble baths?

No. This is about basic human needs, which are a very different thing from treats. Most self-care advice adds pressure to your day. This takes it off. You will leave understanding what you genuinely need to function well, not a list of nice-to-haves you will feel guilty for skipping.

Q: What if I cannot make it live?

Register anyway. Everyone who signs up gets the full recording to watch whenever it suits you.
